From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the warmest hospitality by our hosts, especially dear Masa, whose kindness and attentiveness made our stay unforgettable. This wasn’t just accommodation – it felt like home, only better! We stayed in a traditional Japanese-style room that was spacious, peaceful, and incredibly cozy. The futon beds were amazingly comfortable, giving us a perfect night’s rest every night. But the absolute highlight? The breathtaking, crystal-clear view of Mount Fuji right from our room! It was like waking up in a dream. (Check out the photos – no filter needed!) The bathroom facilities were spotless – honestly cleaner and more thoughtfully maintained than some luxury 5-star hotels we've experienced. Every little detail spoke of care and pride. Breakfast was another level of joy. Our hosts are not only gracious but also fantastic cooks. We were spoiled with a variety of breakfast options, each one delicious and beautifully presented. The breakfast room downstairs has a romantic ambiance with – yes, again – an incredible view of Mount Fuji. It’s the kind of place where you sip your tea slowly just to stretch out the moment. There’s a warmth and charm here that can’t be put into words. Whether it’s the serene surroundings, the perfect room, the immaculate facilities, or the delicious food, everything comes together in harmony to create an experience that’s beyond special. We are already planning our return, and we can’t recommend this gem of a place enough. If you're visiting Kawaguchiko, don’t think twice – stay here. You'll be glad you did. Lots of love to Masa and the entire team – thank you for making our trip magical. 💛

The hotel is family-run with no staff, and we were warmly welcomed by Masa-san, who does everything—from driving the shuttle bus and handling reception to carrying luggage and guiding us through the hotel. He is incredibly warm and friendly, always greeting us with a smile whenever we stepped in or out of the hotel. He was also very kind to my toddler—during the Kawaguchiko Winter Celebration fireworks, when my child cried from the loud noise, Masa-san quickly showed us a safe and quiet indoor spot to watch the fireworks, making us feel truly cared for. Even after we checked out, he messaged us to wish us a good trip in Japan and reminded us to take care of our health due to the changing seasons. This level of thoughtfulness is something you rarely experience, and it made our stay even more memorable. Things to Note: • Limited food options in Kawaguchiko – Luckily, there is a Lawson nearby, which became our lifesaver. • Location – The hotel is not near Kawaguchiko Station (20-minute walk) but is very close to Lake Kawaguchiko. • Amazing Mt. Fuji view – You can enjoy a breathtaking view from your window. • Comfortable rooms with good heating – Essential for cold seasons. • Super clean hotel and onsen – Everything is well-maintained. • Shoeless hotel – You must remove your shoes at the entrance. • No elevator – The hotel has two floors and no lift, but Masa-san carried my two 20kg suitcases without hesitation. • Room layout – Our room had a private toilet and bathtub, twin beds, a living area with a table, and space for a futon. • Charming vintage aesthetic – Though the hotel is not new, its vintage charm matches well with the warmth of the owner.

We’ve had the loveliest stay here at the lakeside hotel. The owner was so lovely and provided free shuttle ride to and from Kawaguchiko station. We stayed at the Japanese style room with Mt Fuji view and we felt so privileged we get to witness such stunning view through our stay. The room was a great way to experience Japanese culture. We slept on futons, used the shared bathroom and free onsen which were very clean and a perfect way to unwind after a long day of We’ve had the loveliest stay here at the lakeside hotel. We stayed at Kawaguchiko Lakeside hotel only 1 night during our travels to Japan because we wanted to experience the Mt. Fuji from up close. We were not lucky with the weather so we were not able to sightsee as we had hoped but, in the end, this didn't matter... Thanks to the truest form of hospitality received at Lakeside hotel our short pitstop at Kawaguchiko was memorable and incredibly enjoyable. The hotel owner went above and beyond to help us in our plans and went as far as taking us himself to the station early in the morning after a night of snowfalls and us not being able to get a bus ticket to reach our next destination. Me and my friend both studied hospitality management at university and safe to say this was the humblest and most memorable hospitality experience I have ever had. We just wish we would have been able to enjoy this place a bit longer. We had the Mt Fuji view room in a Japanese style room and even tho Mt Fuji was not visible because of the weather, the atmosphere ended up being pretty magical. Arigato gozaimas

What a lovely stay! We stayed with our young baby and the host was absolutely amazing! He could not have been any friendlier and went out of his way to help with absolutely everything, including helping us courier an inadvertently taken hotel key back to the last hotel. The location is right by the lake, easy walking distance to some lovely restaurants (Hoto is amazing), some cafes and a lovely bakery and not far from the Ropeway. The hotel itself is well kept, very clean and has some nice Onsen. The outdoor play area is a great bonus and the view from the room of Mt Fuji is incredible to wake up to. But by far what makes this stay so wonderful is the host. He is amazing! From carrying our bags, recommending restaurants, sorting out high chairs, organising taxis and couriers he must be the nicest hotel owner I’ve ever met! Thanks for a lovely stay (First photo the view from our room)
